Matt Barndt is 19 years old and attending the University of North Carolina Charlotte, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Motorsports, placing himself on Dean’s list after the first full semester of classes. Matt has recently completed his 14th full season of racing competition. Since 1995 Matt has been pursuing his dream of auto racing while maintaining a high standard in the classroom. Matt has been very fortunate on the race track and has achieved many notable results.

* 1995 - 2004 - Raced Quarter Midgets at both local and national events placing in the top 10 in 9    out of 10 National appearances also setting track record and fast times.
* 2005 - Advanced to Mini Cup Competition ( 1/2 Scale of a NASCAR)
* 2005 - Won the Long Island Mini Cup Championship (Sr. Class Adults)
* 2005 - Won the Poughkeepsie Speedway Track Championship
* 2005 - Received Rookie of the Year Award
* 2006 – Won the New York Mini Cup Racing Series Championship
* 2006 – Won the Poughkeepsie Speedway Track Championship
* 2007 – 1st season in Asphalt Late Model Competition Achieved 2007 MAARA
   Rookie of the Year Award & 6th in MAARA points
* 2008 – Traveled and raced throughout the northeast & midwest, gaining valuable
   experience at many different tracks. Ended 2008 season winning two of the last three
   feature races at Lake Erie Speedway.
* 2009 – Matt ended 2009 winning his final race of the season, and finished 5th in points overall.    Matt also received a special Award from NASCAR for placing in their top rankings.

In 2010 Matt will race in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series once again, in an attempt to land a Track Championship and increase his rank in NASCAR. The full racing schedule will be posted on Matt’s website once funding is secured. We are looking at running some high profile races down South as well as in the Northeast for the 2010 season.
